Ensky Co., Ltd. has fashioned a set of playing cards based on the famous lines of Takeshi “Gian” Goda, a bully character from the hit anime and manga “Doraemon.” In the series, Gian spends most of his time making outrageous demands of other children and bullying main character Nobita, but there are times when he shows his courage and displays true friendship.

One of Gian’s famous lines is written on each card. Gian can be crass and rude, but he can also be caring and kind. Either way, he speaks strongly, and each card drips with his energy and intensity. The snide remarks are sure to make you laugh, and the warmer lines sure to melt your heart.

Among Gian’s famous lines:

“What’s yours is mine, and what’s mine is…mine!”

“I didn’t take it, I borrowed it. I just haven’t decided when I’ll give it back.”

“Am I supposed to just sit here and pretend like I don’t recognize a friend in need?”

“Don’t be discouraged, Gian is here. If anyone doesn’t think you’re funny, I’ll make ’em cry!”

“I take what I want – that’s my M.O.”

“I never returned it? Well, I meant to borrow it forever!”

“Thanks a bunch. You guys are dear to my heart. You’re my best friends!”

Gian is also known as a horrible singer who forces people to listen to “recitals.” Among the cards are invitations to these recitals; it won’t be difficult to designate the Old Maid with this deck of cards.

The Gian playing card set (“Gian Mogen Toranpu!?”) appeared online at the end of July, and it is enjoying wild popularity and strong sales. Many online retailers are out of stock, so getting your hands on a set may require some hunting around.
