Some months ago, we introduced Weather Girls, a short, daily internet program where a group of cute young Taiwanese girls dance to the day’s weather forecast.
The series adopts a new theme each month, such as “Graduation Month,” “Eco Month,” and even “Bunny Wonderland Month.” (Check our previous article for a sample of the best!)
This month, Weather Girls old and new have joined forces to form an elite meteorological fighting squadron and are ready to save the world and, of course, forecast the weather.
The new theme, Sentai Weather Girls, plays homage to the Japanese Super Sentai series, better known as Power Rangers in the US.
While the girls usually deliver the daily forecast in English and Chinese, this month they’ve once again brought out that adorable faltering Japanese to match the sentai theme.
The Weather Girls English page is also as suggestive as ever: “Feast your eyes on the Mighty Morphing Weather Rangers! Watch how they play with their new toys! Guess what their super powers are *wink*.”
We’ve included a video for each day of the week, along with the each girl’s name and opening one-liner. Be sure to watch each one and let us know which girl you’d like to be rescued by *wink*.
•Thursday, December 1: Mia “Everyone, be brave!”
•Friday, December 2: Nue Nue “We protected this world from danger!”
•Saturday, December 3: Revia & Hana “Let’s go!”
•Sunday, December 4: Jennifer “Everyone, let’s fight together!”
•Monday, December 5: Dara “Cheer for me!”
•Tuesday, December 6: Esse “Be gone evil!”
