Often touted as the Hawaii of the East, Hainan Island is the premier vacation spot in China for those looking for a beautiful beach getaway.
Here, at this tropical paradise, 20 beautiful young women in bikinis stand in a line with the expanse of the China Sea at their back. However, while the women are dressed as though they’re going to spend a day relaxing on the beach, something doesn’t feel right.
Then, suddenly, a shady-looking man runs at the women hurling verbal abuse and waving his arms in the air like he’s poised to attack!
But before you think of rushing in there to defend these vulnerable maidens, be warned: those 20 young ladies are actually bodyguards-in-training and the man is their instructor.
…but why the bikinis?
Genghis Security Advisor Ltd. (GSA) is a Beijing-based company that provides bodyguard services to China’s elite, wealthy and famous.
All bodyguards go through a rigorous training program before being placed into service and the photos in this article, which were recently published online in China, were taken at the company’s Hainan Island training center
Private security services were actually prohibited in China, but the ban was finally lifted in 2010 as the demand for bodyguards among the upper class rose rapidly.
Candidates, both men and women, are put through a nearly nonstop grind of physical training and are only allowed 5 hours of sleep a night—unless there is an emergency muster, that is.
The camp is 21 days long and participants even receive training in the same combat skills used by the Israeli army. And those who excel during the program are even given the chance to continue their training at the International Security Academy in Israel.
While we realize these women asked to be put through this kind of training, there’s something about the scene of 20 attractive young Asians in bikinis being stepped on by big men wearing sunglasses that doesn’t sit well with us.
Still, we’re sure we’d be the ones with the foot in our face the moment we try to intervene! You go girls!
