The 2012 Tokyo Marathon, which took place last Sunday, February 26, saw a record total of 35,000 participants run the 42.195-kilometer course through city streets normally crowded with pedestrians and cars.

While only in its 6th year, the Tokyo Marathon has become one of Japan’s biggest annual events as well as one of Asia’s largest marathons, attracting talented runners around the world.

In fact, rumors have it that the Tokyo Marathon has become so popular that even Jesus Christ has descended from heaven to run this year.

Unfortunately, no amount of prayer or miracles could guarantee Jesus a place in the top bracket and the gold medal went to the true Lords of the race: the Kenyans.
