Even in this age of iPads and net-delivered news, there are still some who maintain that relaxing morning ritual of reading the newspaper over a cup of coffee. The world turns, and the steadfast deliveryman starts his rounds before dawn breaks to ensure a paper for every post that desires it.
But what if, one day, that tranquil cycle was interrupted by a home delivery of fear? What if you awoke one morning to find an unknown Asian woman smiling maliciously as she peers through your postbox?
That’s what one poor Chinese guy thought he was looking at when he went to reach for his paper only to be greeted with the sight above.
The image was posted to a Chinese internet message board with the explanation: “I nearly pissed myself when I woke up this morning and went to the postbox to get my newspaper.”
Of course, there’s no way a woman could actually manage to fit herself into a postbox like that—and we’re pretty sure she wouldn’t be smiling if she actually managed it. Instead, this crazed intruder is actually a photo printed on a pamphlet that just happened to fall into the dark recesses of the postbox in a way that made her appear terrifyingly lifelike.
On the bright side, this postbox version of The Shining is probably far more sobering than any cup of coffee…
