When it comes to sweets, Japan doesn’t pull any punches and Starbucks is no exception: their newest Japan-only drink, the Chocolate Cookie Crumble Frappuccino with White Chocolate Pudding, is one of the sweetest things you could suck through a straw.

If you’re craving a coffee-based dessert drink, this is probably the Frappuccino for you. The chocolate chip and chocolate cookie crumble should be enough to pass any chocolate lover’s taste test, and I found they give the drink a satisfyingly crunchy texture.

However, I have to admit I was disappointed with the white chocolate pudding. I was expecting that kind of rich, melt-in-your mouth pudding that would mix with and compliment the rest of the drink, but instead it felt like somebody just took a cup of grocery store pudding and plopped it into the bottom of the cup.

Thinking back, it could just be that I was supposed to mix the pudding in with the drink, but then that would ruin the presentation as a whole, right?
