The image of Italian football player Mario Balotelli throwing off his shirt and flexing his muscles in celebration after shooting his second goal during the June 28 UEFA Euro 2012 semifinals match against Germany has quickly achieved international meme status.

Italian sports newspaper Corriere Dello Sport has put together the best of Balotelli, which you can see below:

It’s not just the internet that’s caught Balotelli fever; on July 1, Japanese football player Ken Tokura of Vissel Kobe ripped off his shirt and adopted the same stern pose as Balotelli after shooting the winning goal against rival team Kawasaki Frontale.

We could see Balotelli’s muscle pose becoming something of trend if you didn’t need such a chiseled body to pull it off. But I guess that’s why we have Photoshop to play with instead.
