Good news to all you flat-chested ladies out there: recent research suggests that Japanese men may prefer an A-cup to any other bust size.

Last month, Japanese healthcare product retailer LC Cosmetic conducted a poll in which they asked 1619 Japanese men across the country their “ideal bust size.” LC Cosmetic divided the results up by prefecture and visualized them on the map above; a quick look at which reveals that men in over half of Japan’s prefectures prefer A cup women.

A breakdown of the results is as follows:

A Cup: Aomori, Miyagi, Fukushima, Ibaraki, Yamanashi, Nagano, Gifu, Ishikawa, Fukui, Wakayama, Tottori, Shimane, Yamaguchi, Kagawa, Tokushima, Ehime, Kochi, Saga, Kumamoto
C Cup: Hokkaido, Iwate, Yamagata, Niigata, Toyama, Tochigi, Chiba, Tokyo, Kangawa, Shizuoka, Aichi, Shiga, Okayama, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Oita, Miyazaki, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Okinawa
D Cup: Saitama, Hyogo
※ Gunma, Mie, Kyoto and Nara had an even split between A cup and C cup, and Akita couldn’t make up it’s mind between A, B or D.

This is an interesting turn of events: according to a similar survey by LC Cosmetic about average bust sizes in Japan, out of all Japan’s 47 prefectures, only Saitama women had an A cup average. Yet looking at the results above, Saitama is one of only 2 prefectures whose men prefer women with a D-sized rack. Saitama has always gotten a bad rep for being the “boring” or “lame” prefecture, but this is just embarrassing…

The reverse can be said about Gifu prefecture, where men dare to dream of A cup chests in a land where E cup is the norm.

In addition to the two surveys above, LC Cosmetic has also polled Japanese women on what color panties they wear when going on dates they plan on ending with a “bang.” At this rate we wouldn’t be surprised if LC Cosmetic is compiling a regional guide for finding the perfect Japanese lover.
