Located under the Shin-Hankyu Hotel in Osaka is Olympia, an international buffet the likes of which you probably have never seen.  They offer foods of various nations from pizza, steak, seafood, rice dishes, pastas, soups, cakes, crepes, ice cream, etc. and everything is all-you-can-eat.

They change the foods available depending on the season but this autumn line up called “An Autumn Bumper Crop’s Blessing” looks to have some unique ideas set to satisfy even the heartiest eater.  The most original addition being the giant hot sauce fountain!

Yes, this nearly meter tall fondue fountain previously dispersing white or dark chocolate has been converted to pump out hot sauce.  It’s intended for use with shrimp to provide a novel way to whip up some Ebi Chili (Chili Shrimp) a much loved dish in Japan.

But that’s not the only shocking feature on this menu starting on 7 September.  There is also going to be enormous Jumbo NikumanThis nikuman measures approx. 40cm in diameter and is said to be able to hold 60 miniature sized nikuman, give or take.  A clever idea to make all-you-can-eat nikuman more portable.

In addition to these freaky items the usual line up of Japanese, Chinese, and Western foods looks as good as ever. Prices vary on the time of day, and you’ll probably have to make a reservation to get in at any time as the place is usually packed. If you are in the area and want to check it out just remember that Jumbo Nikuman are only available during the daytime hours.
