Thousands of crocodiles emerged from water at an ecological park in Nanjing, China, on September 8.

Chinese netizens were quick to believe the strange behavior is a sign of an impending earthquake, but local seismology experts assure the public that there is no possibility of an earthquake in the near future.

According to a park official, currently 5000 artificially bred crocodiles are kept at the park and it is common for them emerge from the water to sun themselves on the shore.

Was this phenomenon nothing more than one big c? There have been a lot of stories this year involving large numbers of aquatic creatures turning up unexpectedly.
