The latest fad among Japanese cosplayers on Twitter is showing that you don’t actually need to be wearing a costume to be in character.

It started when one person wondered if leaving their cosplay costume folded up outside the bathroom door would make it look like that character was actually inside taking a bath.

The idea quickly gained momentum and soon Twitter had a small library of photos showing the garbs of popular anime and manga characters strewn about the bathroom floor.

Cosplayers are known for being a creative bunch, and in some of the photos you can tell the photographers put a bit of thought into how their character would actually strip down before enjoying a peaceful soak in the tub.
