Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it is 2013!

No matter where you are in the world, the clock has struck 12, the ball has dropped, rockets have launched and people have kissed and made promises to better themselves in some way or other.

Throughout the past 12 months, we’ve battled our way through seemingly endless otaku awkwardness, tensions between Japan and China, the end of the world and more sexy shenanigans than you could shake a stick at, and we’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Poo-wine included.

In this, the Year of the Snake, or Midoshi 「巳年」 in Japanese, we have our sights set on just one thing: more awesome, funny and downright weird news from Asia, grabbed by the scruff of the neck, translated and written in a fun, informative style for you good people. More “WTF?”, more “yikes”, much more “Ooh la-la!” and even a little bit of culture when we’re feeling sophisticated.
