Behold the baby fennec fox in his terrible cuteness. Who can look away from those guileless, soul-stealing eyes? Who can resist the temptation to scritch those fluffy ears, to boop that weeny little nose?! Admit it, you just reached out to your screen, didn’t you?
Don’t worry, you aren’t the only one to find themselves defenseless in the face of such adorableness. When pictures were posted on the message board Hamusoku this week, the squees could be heard all around the Internet. More photos after the break.
A user on Hamusoku posted a series of pictures that appear to be of the two fennec kits born at Canada’s Parc Safari last December. Fennec foxes are native to the Sahara Desert and are noted for their gigantic ears, which help to keep their bodies cool in the desert heat and to hear small prey moving under the sand.
The pictures seem to be spread out over the kits’ first few weeks, from before their eyes have even opened to a more recognizable adolescence.
Commenters were beside themselves with excitement:
Teh cute! It hurts!
That picture is so cute, I just died. So I guess that means I don’t have to go to work tomorrow!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh! So cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!
I was headed home on the train, totally exhausted, but then I saw this. Now I’ve got the energy to go on!
I just want to tickle him! Koochy koo!
Consider yourself fully warned for the cuteness to come, then, and see if you can react with any less giddiness when you get an eyeful of these little guys.
Say it together now: Awwwwwwwwwwwww!
