Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! …and Hello Kitty.

As a kid, whenever you heard the TMNT theme song, you knew it was on! What’s better than pizza-loving, Japanese weapon-toting, “cowabunga dude” catch phrased mutant turtles who also happen to be ninjas? That’s right, nothing’s better. Except maybe this TMNT/Hello Kitty collaboration. We know they’re not Pokemon but we just gotta catch them all!

Leonardo, Rafael, Donatello and Michelangelo have all been turned into Japan’s favorite cat, Hello Kitty…or is it the other way around? Either way the result is awesome. The figurines are being sold by Dreams Come True, Inc. (what an appropriate name!) under the “COOL JAPAN x COOL AMERICA” brand. Only 1,000 of each turtle kitty will be sold (4,000 total) and they will go on sale on November 23 for the steep price of 6,980 yen (US$69.75) each excluding tax. Now that we know the price, we’re not sure we want to shell out nearly $300 for the entire gang of ninja turtles…maybe we’ll just have to settle for putting cat ears on Dreams Come True’s cheaper figurines.
