In a famous shopping area in Nagoya (Osu Kannon), the white rabbit leads to Alice on Wednesday. It’s not clear at first how to enter the store, because there are doors of all shapes and sizes on the front of the building. Of course, in true Alice style, the smallest, most difficult door to enter is the true entrance. Squeeze through the door and when you walk down the hallway, a wondrous world appears.

The store in Nagoya features two unique rooms: the first is the Red Queen’s Room, and the second is the White Queen’s Room. The two rooms are separated by the items featured inside, and both are as amazing as you think.

In the Red Queen’s Room, a heart-shaped chair and sparkling chandelier decorate the dark, ominous room. The products featured here are accessories and other miscellaneous goods including charms, hats, and cell phone straps. They are all extremely cute and have an excellent price ranging between 500 yen (US$5) and 2,000 yen ($20).

On the other side is the second room: the White Queen’s Room. This room has a simple design with snow white walls and a charming claw-footed table. Frosted cookies, candy, colored popcorn and all sorts of other tasty treats decorate the walls and table. All the candies suitably follow the Alice theme with the suits of cards, the Cheshire cat and other memorable characters.

If you can’t make it to Nagoya, perhaps Osaka would be easier to get to. Opening on May 23rd, this is not an exact replica of the first store, but instead an extension of the original Nagoya store, kind of like a “Chapter 2”. The rooms here are the Tea Room and the Queen of Hearts Room. The goods being sold are also different, with this store more focused on daily necessities, tableware, stationery and other items featuring the works by Jon Tenniel, the original illustrator of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.

Or for those who want to see some unique goods to spice up the dreariness of the everyday, please visit the Nagoya location or the almost opened Osaka store. Who knows where the white rabbit will take you from there!
