We talked recently about a creative smartphone case inspired by Love Live, the current standard bearer for the “cut girls strive earnestly to be the best at something” genre of anime. But while it’s all well and good to be able to dress your phone up in the same uniform worn by the show’s teen idol singers, it doesn’t create a direct connection between fans and the show.

Love Live attire isn’t just for smartphones, though, as there’s now a line of shoes based on the popular franchise.

The extensive collection of pumps if being offered by anime clothier 2 PM Works, which is currently in the process of rebranding itself as Super Groupies. Much like the Puella Magi Madoka Magica shoes the company began selling last month, the Love Live footwear is fashionable and distinct, without making use of any externally overt anime imagery.

Based on the costumes worn by Love Live’s in-anime idol group Muse during its performance of the song “Mogyutto love de Sekkenchu,” 2 PM Works has made sure each and every member is represented, with pairs corresponding to the nine vocalists’ associated image colors.

Each design incorporates a heart-shaped buckle, ribbons, and 6.5-centimeter (2.6-inch) heels.

There’s also a completely separate design inspired by the anime’s first opening theme, “Bokura wa Ima no Naka de.” Since all the girls of Muse wore matching outfits for this number, there’s only one color scheme being offered.

2 PM Works is taking orders on its website here from now until August 10, with delivery scheduled for late October. All models are available in half-size increments from 22 to 25 centimeters.

The “Mogyutto love de Sekkenchu” version sells for 17,800 yen (US$176) and comes with an illustration of the corresponding idol, while the “Bokura wa Ima no Naka de” shoes cost 1,000 yen less and are bundled with a plastic Love Live file. Neither one is particularly cheap, but if you’re choosing between these and a giant Love Live tattoo as a way to show your support for Muse, the pumps are probably the more economical option, especially if you take into account the cost of laser removal surgery in 10 years’ time.
