Good morning from Tokyo! We’re here at the Makuhari Messe exhibition centre bright and early to stand in line to play video games all day. Because we love you.

If you happen to be at the show today or are even in the area, be sure to give us a wave if you see us rocking our RocketNews24 press passes. If you’re new to the game show, we should warn you: despite the enormous number of ads for upcoming horror title Psycho Break, there are actually other games due to be exhibited at this year’s TGS…

Psycho Break, or The Evil Within outside Japan, is Resident Evil director Shinji Mikami’s newest horror baby. At last year’s TGS, we were treated to a show video presentation of the game, which featured an unarmed protagonist trying to escape from a chainsaw-wielding psychopath inside an insane asylum that would transform before his very eyes.

With the game due for release next month, Mikami and his team are doubling down and splashing the remainder of their budget on hype, it would seem, because this year’s Tokyo Game Show is positively plastered with banners and posters for the game, with official Tokyo Game Show signs a comparatively rare sight.

Exiting from the station, one of the first things TGS attendees will spot is Psycho Break.

Curiously for the land of PlayStation, many of the ads stress that the game is available on Xbox One.

Approaching the exhibition centre, it’s all Psycho Break.

Yup. Psycho Break!

And it doesn’t let up once you’re inside.

I tell you what, Mikami, this game better be good. I’ll certainly be letting our readers know what I think of it after I play it at <looks up to check the nearest poster> Hall 2 booth N2…
