pellek

PelleK is a Norwegian rock and metal singer who doesn’t just limit himself to screaming about death and darkness, and uses his amazing vocal talents to cover anime songs and more, uploading them to YouTube for everyone to enjoy. Check out his awesome voice and performances in the videos below.

The talented PelleK (who seems to be channeling Thor’s Loki, or maybe that’s just me?) has an incredible vocal range stretching across four octaves. Using his voice like an instrument he performs his own takes on everything from old and new anime and game songs to Disney classics, chart music, and of course plenty of melodic rock. While he started out covering the English versions of anime opening songs, he’s recently moved on to performing the original Japanese versions too, and sounds completely comfortable singing in the language. With the praise he’s been getting from Japan, he’s also set up a Japanese Facebook page for his fans over here!

Check out some of his anisong covers in Japanese and English below.

▼ Shingeki no Kyojin first opening song – Guren no Yumiya.

▼ Tokyo Ghoul opening song – Unravel.

▼ One Piece 15th opening song – We go!

▼ Pokemon theme song medley. Gotta catch ’em all!

▼ Digimon theme song medley. How does he make something with the lyrics ‘Digimon, digital monsters, Digimon are the champions’ sound so cool?!

▼ Anime medley of 17 songs in 8 minutes.

And it’s not only anime songs he covers – he also does rock versions of some of our favourite Disney classics.

▼ Mulan – I’ll Make A Man Out of You.

▼ Aladdin – Friend Like Me.

He also has a huge variety of other songs that you can check out over at his YouTube channel.

▼ Here’s an example of his insane vocal range. I wish I could bust something like this out at karaoke, but I’m pretty sure I’d end up in the hospital if I tried.
