Nearly 20 years after the release of Final Fantasy VII, the iconic Japanese RPG is still regarded as one of the best video games ever made. And although fans may have been disappointed by the recent announcement that the game won’t be given a facelift for its PS4 debut, Final Fantasy VII lovers can wallow in their grief by an amazing video compiled from 200 original works of arts from more than 100 artists. The artwork recreates key scenes from the video game, taking viewers on a very nostalgic walk back to the many days spent on their PlayStations with Cloud and his friends.

The idea for the video was conceived as a way to celebrate the Final Fantasy fan community website Eyes on Final Fantasy and make use of some of the very talented artists contributing to the site. The owner of the website put together a list of about 180 scenes from the well-loved game, expecting to get about half. Instead, so many artists ended up sending in works of art and asking to be a part of the ambitious project that the owner had to come up with new scenes for the fans to recreate.

The end result is a one hour-plus video that tells practically the whole story of Final Fantasy VII from beginning to end. If you’ve got some time to kill or just can’t get enough of the game, check out the video below to take a trip back to the world of Final Fantasy through the eyes of some very talented artists.
