Last year, we brought to you all the excitement surrounding the broadcast of the Sailor Moon Crystal anime, coming some 22 years after the original series it rebooted was released. The new anime has so far been streaming on Japanese video sharing site Niconico, but starting April 6, Sailor Moon Crystal will finally air on Japanese TV.

To commemorate the TV broadcast of the new anime, a Sailor Moon themed cafe will appear for a limited time at the Anion Station, a unique cafe and bar located in Shinjuku that caters to fans of anime songs. For one month, the Sailor Moon cafe will be offering special treats and drinks inspired by the anime, as well as  live public viewing of the TV broadcast. Now, that’s bound to attract some ardent Sailor Moon devotees!

The Anion Station, which opened last October in the Kabukicho area of Shinjuku, offers its patrons various anime song-themed interactive entertainment, including collaborations with specific anime and artists and even imaginary radio programs in a live audience format. It certainly sounds like a lovely haven for anime fans.

The Sailor Moon cafe is one such collaboration to be offered by Anion Station and will operate from April 6, the day Sailor Moon Crystal starts airing on Japanese TV, until May 6. During that period, as Sailor Moon Crystal will air in Tokyo every Monday from 11 p.m., the cafe will extend its business hours until midnight on Mondays for live viewing of the broadcast and will be open until 9 p.m. on all other days of the week. Although specific details haven’t been released, it looks like there will be some sweet-looking treats and colorful cocktails on the menu — all with a Sailor Moon theme, of course! You’ll want to take note that reservations are required for the Sailor Moon cafe on all days (sort of like the Final Fantasy cafe in Akihabara), and besides the cost of food and drinks, there will be a separate service charge of 1,000 yen (US$8.40) per hour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 1,000 yen per 1/2 hour from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Who knows, the Anion Station may be the ideal place to meet fellow anime fans with a common love of the magical sailor-suited ladies!
