There she is, that heavenly high school beauty dozing across from you on the train, complete with a handwritten message on the window not to disturb her peaceful slumber. You stare lovingly at her angelic sleeping face…only to realize that yep, you’ve been tricked, big time.

Don’t you just hate it when things don’t turn out the way they seemed?

That sentiment sums up the reactions of hundreds of Japanese internet users who were expecting to see a sleeping high school cutie when they spied one man’s tweet from the inside of a train. But boy, things sure didn’t go as planned…

Here’s the original tweet:

At first glance, we see what appears to be a female high school student scrawling something in the condensation on the window…

What did she write? “Don’t wake me until Shin-Matsuda [a station on the Odakyu Odawara Line in Kanagawa Prefecture].”

Finally, a full view of her lovely featur–hey, wait a minute! “She’s” too old to be a high school student!

Here are the comments of some innocent net users who fell hook, line, and sinker for the trick:

“A female…high school student? A female? High school student!?

“I thought something looked strange about the back of her legs…”

“Who the heck would want to wake ‘her’ up anyway?”

“Let’s leave him as is until the last stop.”

“Give me back my initial excitement!”

Watch out for those trolls, folks, both on the net, and on the train!
