If there’s one thing we know, it’s that Kingdom Hearts 3 is definitely, probably, hopefully coming out sometime in the future. It might be released in 2016 or 2017 or forever, but it is for sure coming…so they tell us. Like most fans of the series, we’ve replayed Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 over and over again just to get ready for the big release. We’ve made Sora swing the Keyblade around enough times in the game that if given a real Keyblade, we’d probably be pretty amazing at using it.

Luckily for us, there are master weaponsmiths who showcase their talent on YouTube and just this week they uploaded their team making the “Oathkeeper” and it couldn’t be more perfect.

The Man At Arms team is composed of talented swordsmiths, welders, machinists, engravers, blacksmiths and goldsmiths that have made a number of weapons for movies, plays and Renaissance fairs. But every other Monday, they take requests from their viewers and recreate iconic weapons from movies, TV and video games, such as Sora’s Keyblades.

The team made Sora’s Kingdom Key back in 2013 and the finished product looks like it was ripped out of our TV screens.

Viewers loved seeing the Keyblade brought to life, but obviously weren’t satisfied with the most boring looking Keyblade in Sora’s arsenal and issued a new challenge: make Oathkeeper.

Even those who know nothing about metalworking will quickly realize that this is not a simple task of just heating a few bits of metal and clamping them together. There are a number of curves and intricate detailing that would make the Keyblade look pretty shabby if not crafted with care. No need to worry though, because this team of professionals really nails, or perhaps ‘welds’, the project.

The completed Keyblade is absolutely gorgeous, but there’s something to be said about a weapon that is both beautiful and deadly, which this blade definitely is. Besides, if you’re a weapons master, you’ve got to prove it by slashing up some unsuspecting inanimate objects.

If you like the work that Man At Arms crafts, be sure to check out their YouTube page. Other weapons that they’ve made have been inspired by Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, Inuyasha and One Piece to name but a few.

What would you do if you had your very own Keyblade like this one? Would it be enough to tide you over until the actual release of Kingdom Hearts 3? Probably not, but that is still a mighty impressive piece of work!
