Pixiv now gives users the option of turning their artwork into fully-illustrated doujinshi (fan-made comics) with just a few mouse clicks.

If you’ve ever thought about trying to self-publish your own manga, pixiv, the social networking site for illustrators, is here to help with its new program, pixivFACTORY BOOKS.

At the touch of a button, users can create comic pages from their uploaded images by creating a drag and drop gallery of ready-to-print pages. When they’re done, the site offers previews and estimates from one of eight different printing companies, and after clicking send, their order will be sent to print within five minutes.

From there, artists can expect to receive finished comics in the mail in about two business days, and to make things even more convenient, the site also offers an at-a-glance deadline date for every major, upcoming comic event in the country.

Don’t have a big enough library to produce your own comic? Don’t worry! pixivFACTORY BOOKS can just as easily transfer single pieces of artwork to posters, tote bags, iPhone cases, and even umbrellas and blankets.

Right now, as part of a promotional deal, users will receive five percent of their purchase price to apply to any future order. That means the more you print, the more free stuff you get!

So far reactions to pixiv’s new service have been positive, and we anticipate it will be especially useful helping manga artists navigate the process of getting their work published and reach a larger audience.
