Korean pro gamer Infiltration replicates The Beast’s legendary moves in this recent tweet of him playing the yet-to-be-released Street Fighter V.

First of all, let’s review what is often called the number-one moment in pro-gaming history. We recently covered arcade fighting video game legend Daigo “The Beast” Umehara, who was officially recognized by Guinness World Records as “the most successful player in major tournaments of Street Fighter,” when he chose to donate all of his winnings from a December tournament to a scholarship fund at New York University. The Beast is most famous, though, for his legendary come-from-behind-win in a match at Evolution Championship Series 2004’s Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike competition after successfully completing a fully parry on his opponent’s super move. This moment has subsequently been immortalized as “EVO Moment #37: The Beast is Unleashed,” which you can watch and rewatch in all of its glory below.

Enter professional e-sports player Seon-Woo “Infiltration” Lee of South Korea. Earlier this week, Infiltration gave us not only a sneak peek not only of the soon-to-be-released Street Fighter V game, but also his own version of EVO Moment #37. Check it out for yourself in the following tweet:

How do you Rocketeer gamers compare Infiltration’s full parry to that of The Beast’s from over ten years ago?

Street Fighter V is set to be released on February 16 in North America and Europe and on February 18 in Japan. Challenge yourself to complete your own fully parry when you get your hands on the game!
