Don’t have the cash or time for an appointment with a masseuse? No worries; this new massage hoodie promises to work out your knots while you sit back and relax.

After successfully designing a jacket that gives calming “hugs” to children and adults with ADHD, anxiety, and autism, Singapore start-up T.Ware is back with its latest project, another style of zip-up sweatshirt called AiraWear, which incorporates their previous controllable, pressure-on-demand technology to give wearers a massage anytime, anywhere with a tap of their Apple and Android devices.

When worn while standing or sitting with your back against a hard surface, AiraWear’s inflatable acupressure points target the shoulders and back, delivering straighter posture and instant stress relief, all controlled via a special app.

According to T.Ware, the quality of the massage you get is on par with that of a massage chair, but at only a fraction of the price. The electrical parts are removable and the hoodie can also be washed.

Although the exact cost of the garment has yet to be revealed, the company states that it expects units will cost half the price of a new smartphone, with other sources putting their guesstimates at around US$250.

While it may not be ideal for summer, we have no doubt it will be a handy addition to your next fall/winter wardrobe.

AiraWear is set to launch via crowdfunding sometime next month. More details will be posted soon on the brand’s official site.
