Whip up a homemade face pack with this Korean recipe that only requires two common ingredients you’ll find in many Asian kitchens: seaweed and milk.

Not only does seaweed taste great with sushi or in miso soup, but it’s chock-full of vitamins, minerals, and other good stuff for your health, hair, and complexion.

Face packs from Japan and Korea are popular beauty items and make great souvenirs, and a number of them include seaweed or seaweed extract for soft, glowing skin. Homemade face packs can work just as well, though. Check out this quick and easy recipe for one that was recently presented on Korean TV.

All you need to make your own is a sheet of roasted seaweed (nori) and some milk, something you’re sure to find in most Japanese and Korean kitchens, as well in others around Asia, too. Even if seaweed isn’t something you usually keep on hand, you should be able to find packs of it at your local Asian food import store. Just make sure you get the regular kind instead of other flavored kinds like kimchi, as we can’t guarantee the spiciness won’t burn or leave you with a rash instead!

Got your seaweed and milk ready? Great, there’re only three simple steps to follow!

First, cut the sheet into a round piece that fits your face, making sure to cut out holes for your eyes, nose, and mouth. Use a template if it’s easier!

Second, dunk the mask in milk.

Finally, apply it to your face!

You might look silly with the mask on, but we bet your skin will thank you for it! So what do you think? Is it something you’d be willing to try, or would you prefer we ask Mr. Sato to test it out first? Let us know in the comments!
