The best part? No purchase necessary!

This year McDonald’s Japan is renewing the recipe for their fresh-brewed coffee. And what better way to get people to taste it than to give it out for free?

It seems McDonald’s agrees, because that’s just what they’re doing!

From January 16 to 20 you can get a free small size coffee for absolutely nothing. 0 yen. US $0. Just stop by between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and ask for an S-size coffee. You don’t even need to use that special coupon you got in your McDonald’s Lucky Bag.

Normally these kinds of deals come with a catch, such as an extra purchase or a minimum spending amount. But McDonald’s isn’t playing those kinds of tricks on you this time. You don’t need anything to get a free coffee – just ask for a small coffee in Japanese (though to be honest we’re sure you can get the message across by asking in English or pointing at the menu).

McDonald’s Japan is also running a campaign to get feedback about the new and improved coffee flavor. You could win a 1,000 yen (US$8.73) gift card by visiting this page, entering your rating and thoughts, and following McDonald’s Japan’s official Twitter account.

▼ You can follow them at this account and let them
know what you think about their “reborn” coffee.

If you can’t make it to McDonald’s next week (or you just can’t make yourself wake up that early), an S-size coffee only costs 100 yen normally. If you ask me though, I’d say getting up early is worth it. And if you’re really in the mood for more fast-food feedback, don’t miss out on their big burger election going on until January 31!
