Surely these are relationship goals for gamers everywhere.

It’s not always easy finding The One, that special person you can share both your joys and your sorrows with, who adds a spark to even the mundane moments in life, and who shares the same hobbies and passions as you.

But this Japanese couple seems to have found just that in each other.

On August 24, the love-struck couple tied the knot, and not in the traditional chapel-style fashion. The two gamers rented out the Mikado Game Center  in Tokyo’s Takadanobaba neighborhood for their ceremony. Mikado is an arcade well-known for its abundance of retro games from the ’80s and ’90s, plus its large lineup of fighting games, and is also the perfect place for game-lovers to join in holy matrimony.

Arcade staff shared photos of the couple’s special day on Mikado’s Twitter account, writing, “Today, Mikado was rented out for a wedding. Congratulations on your marriage Kazunori and Yukiko!”

They also mentioned that the newlyweds had their first fight as a married couple… in a game of Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion.

Many Twitter users also left  congratulatory remarks for the couple:

“Having a wedding at an arcade sounds awesome! May you find eternal happiness together.”

“Congratulations! Games bring people and generations together through love. Tekken seems to cause fighting though…”

“Tekken is for lovers.”

“Congratulations! Get ready for the next battle!”

We wrote previously about Mikado’s wedding services, so it’s great to see a couple taking advantage of the unique venue opportunity. Perhaps the next couple will want to take their ceremony a step higher and make it Final Fantasy-themed as well!
