Though a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Steven currently resides in Nagano, Japan, where he is known by the old lady at the supermarket as "the white guy who always buys 2 packs of natto." Having finished a 2 year stint teaching English with the JET program, Steven now spends his days writing silly things about Japan while vainly insisting to his parents that he's a "journalist" working for an established "newspaper."

Aside from writing banal stories about hot Asian women and cheeseburgers, Steven is also working with dojin circle Creative Freaks to localize their fitness app/ Japanese dating sim series, Burn your fat with me!! (known as Nensho! in Japan).

A Darumouse is a combination of a computer mouse and a traditional Japanese round doll modeled after the founder of the Zen sect of Buddhism, Bodhidharma. Legend says that Bodhidharma sat on a rock for nine years in a quest to reach enlightenment. Because of sitting in one place for so long, his arms and legs became paralyzed and useless. Although there are many poor people in North Korea, very small number of people live so far from starvation there. Peculation of rescuesupplies by the army, as they say, happens so frequently. You would be amazed when you come to know what Kim Jong-il eats every day … and would be at a loss for words to see how the dictator lives in that poorest country.

Ramen, one of the representive Japanese food, is　completely different from Chinese noodle. Chinese people　seem to enjoy Ramen as Japanese food, though it’s based on　traditional chinese food.
