The latest otoko no ko to take the internet by storm is Satsuki, a transgender woman who has a large online following, and has undergone sex reassignment surgery – a rarity in Japan. She blogs about her experience transitioning from a man to a woman, explaining her conflicts with Japan’s medical system, and how she eventually abandoned it altogether.
Scrubs? Check. Scalpel? Check. Smartphone? Double check.
The following photos of doctors and nurses posing inside an operating room at Fengcheng Hospital in Xi’an, northwestern China, were allegedly taken back in the summer on August 15. Although months have passed since then, the photos just recently surfaced online and have been causing quite an uproar among the general public over the past few days.
If it’s any consolation, would you breathe a sigh of relief to hear that at least the photos were taken after a successful operation? But wait–doesn’t the patient still appear to be undergoing surgery in some of the shots!?
While many people view gender as a black-and-white issue, the reality is there is a lot of grey of the spectrum from man to woman. From young men who feel more comfortable dressed a pretty girl to a handsome transman fighting for equality in the Philippines, the world is full of people who don’t quite fit into a rigid gender binary.
Recently, a 44-year-old Chinese man found this out recently when he went to the doctor after some concerning stomach pains and finding blood in his urine. Worried about the source of the bleeding, the doctor ordered a CAT scan that turned up the surprising cause—the man had a full set of female reproductive organs and had begun menstruating.
Men aren’t exactly known for making good decisions when it comes to their penises. Now, normally that just means that guys will take absurd risks to impress someone they fancy, but sometimes their idiocy can run a bit deeper. And if you add boredom into the mix, all bets are off! It’s impossible to say what a guy won‘t try to stick inside his little fella.
Wait, inside? Yep, you read that correctly! As much as you probably don’t want to know more…well, you still definitely want to know more. Click to read all the cringe-worthy details below!
You are, no doubt, aware of the enormous popularity of cosmetic surgery in South Korea. While public opinion on the procedures is still split, we definitely feel that, hey, it’s your body, so do what you want!
Nevertheless, it can be quite startling at times to see just how much a skilled surgeon can do. From the Japanese woman transforming herself into a living porcelain doll to the images of South Korean cosmetic surgery we showed you earlier this year, we are always amazed by the possibilities opened up by a carefully wielded scalpel, and the following collection of images is no exception.
Many Asian women believe that having double eyelids is a sign of beauty and many who possess single-eyelids are forever in a quest to achieve a crease above their eye. In fact, double-eyelid surgery is the most common cosmetic enhancement in South Korea and Taiwan, and is very popular throughout Asia. For those who are hesitant to go under the knife in the name of beauty, there are plenty of non-surgical options to create the illusion of a double-eyelid such as special glues, tapes, and plastic devices.
The newest product to hit the double-eyelid market has been flying off the shelves with a reported 7,000 units sold in the first month of sales. Called “Eyelid Trainer”, this special device is worn just like a pair of glasses and claims to “create a double-eyelid with daily use.” It also makes you look ridiculous.
Would you buy a pair of legs at US$60,000?
Last Tuesday morning, a man was spotted in Tianhe District of Guangzhou selling his legs. While sitting in the middle of an overhead bridge, the man wore on his legs a cardboard sign that read: “Legs for Sale! $30,000 each!”
It’s a typical drinking challenge that many guys have gotten into at one point or another. The first person to “break the seal,” or use the bathroom first, is the sucker who picks up the check.
Good times are had watching guys squirm it out and race to the urinal before wetting themselves, and all the funnier if they don’t make it in time.
However, for one group of friends in China, their friendly wager turned tragic leading to the near death of one man.
This isn’t about some botched job either. In early May, a man appearing to have knife wounds was brought to this one hospital, where the staff immediately assessed the situation and prepared for emergency surgery. In the operating room, the doctors asked him what his name was when all of a sudden, this guy completely loses it. He gets up off the operating table, beats up the doctors, and destroys a bunch of equipment in the operating room and other parts of the hospital.
Have you ever met up with a friend only to find that you chose the same outfit to wear somewhere public? Or have you ever been in a class where someone you don’t know or even don’t like was wearing the same shirt as you? The feeling of awkwardness, annoyance, and/or embarrassment that comes with these situations is something most of us try to avoid.
However, three mysterious women in China have decided to make this a way of life by making their faces identical with cosmetic surgery.
