flag

Having ruled out Colonel Mustard with a candlestick in the dining room (thanks Hasbro), Osaka prefectural police at the city’s Taisho station are trying to figure out who made off with national flags from two of the district’s elementary schools on April 16.

According to the city’s Board of Education, at around 8:00 a.m. on the 16th, a teacher at Sangenyahigashi Elementary School discovered the school’s national flag that had been flying on a pole erected on the roof of the four-story school building was missing. Police investigated upon receiving the complaint; finding footprints, they surmised the perpetrator had used the building’s emergency staircase to gain access to the roof before absconding with the flag.

On the same day around 7:45 a.m., school staff at Nakaizuo Elementary School found the flagpole on the school’s playground to be flag-free. No footprints, however, were reported discovered at the scene.

Perhaps it was Miss Scarlet with a wrench in the study?
