Our Japanese reporter freaks out after trying crappy Domino’s pizza in the US1Since there is a large mix of people from many different countries living in the United States (and because of the country’s relative youngness), it’s hard to identify a truly “American” food. Regardless, there are those dishes you simply must try when venturing over to the US for a trip. Our Japanese reporter recently tried what he considers to be a “must have” food from the USA: Domino’s pizza. To us Americans, Domino’s is hardly a delicious meal; it’s more of a cheap disk of sauce and cheese to keep hopeless college students alive. But to our reporter, who has already been exposed to Domino’s pizza in Japan, eating pizza made in the company’s homeland was a true treat. The following is our Japanese reporter’s glowing review of crappy Domino’s pizza in the United States.

So good, I didn’t want to go back home to Japan

There are so many kinds of pizza at Domino’s in the US that are different from the ones available in Japan. One in particular, the “Ultimate Pepperoni Feast,” was so good that I didn’t want to go back home to Japan…don’t worry, I did eventually go back.

The pepperoni is delicious!

The Ultimate Pepperoni Feast pizza is plentifully topped with pepperoni. Despite its simplicity, the flavor of the pepperoni makes for a splendidly satisfying pizza.

THE CRUST IS SO GOOD!!!

But there’s something totally different about American Domino’s pizza: the dough. The crunchiness of the crust on the Ultimate Pepperoni Feast pizza was especially delicious! It was so delicious that the crust, not the cheese or even the pepperoni, took the leading role of this meal.

The secret is the uneven crust

It’s hard to see in the pictures, but the crust is bumpy. That unevenness is what makes this pizza so good! At the time of baking, the unevenness of the crust is brought out and it’s those raised parts that release a savory flavor that is different from the flat parts.

The fluffy insides of the crust bring the meal to a climax

Since the position and placement of the raised parts of the crust vary, you are treated to a variety of aromatic flavors. More than anything else, it’s that bumpiness that makes eating the pizza a fun experience, climaxing with the addition of the soft, fluffy insides of the crust.

You gotta try the Ultimate Pepperoni Feast as least once

If you ever get a chance to venture to the US, I want you to try the Ultimate Pepperoni Feast pizza! The deliciousness will surprise you.

So what do you think? Is Domino’s pizza as amazing as our Japanese reporter thinks? For those who have also tasted Domino’s pizza in Japan, is American Domino’s that much better?
