For anyone who loves gaming but often gets told by those around them to put their efforts into something more productive, we here at RocketNews24 have some great news. It comes in the form of a job post searching for someone to play video games for three months that carries a million yen (US$10,000) reward. The game in question is an RPG called “ArcheAge” and the applicant lucky enough to be chosen will be given the chance to immerse themselves in the game for three whole months. During this period, they will be on show to the net community via a live broadcast feed. After completing the three month play period, the gamer then becomes eligible for the million yen.

The period of play is from August 9 to November 8 of this year. To ensure maximum concentration on the game itself without any interruptions, a room within the Tokyo area is provided. During this time, the gamer, as well as being required to show themselves on camera, is also expected to update their game-play via a blog. Therefore, only someone who is comfortable with their every move being recorded should apply.

Other requirements for the position are as follows:

  • Job history irrelevant.
  • Age: 20 or over.
  • Can devote themselves to three months of intensive gaming.
  • Have a passion for online gaming.
  • Have experience playing Arche Age, or, if not already familiar with the game, can see themselves becoming a hardcore fan.
  • Have familiarity with live broadcasting and Social Network Service (SNS).
  • Is able to make it to one of the following auditions held in the Tokyo area on August 5, 6, or 9

Applicants must also satisfy the following criteria:

  • Have no hesitation about broadcasting their face on the net.
  • Have experience playing online games for long periods of time.
  • Experience playing the game “Guild Master” is also highly welcomed.
