Waterfalls and tropical vegetation make for some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. There’s just something about raw, untamed nature that fills the human mind with wonder, and Lake Sebu and its Seven Falls in the Philippines is certain to wow even the most experienced eco-tourist.

But in addition to beautiful scenery, it turns out there is also an exciting way to take in the sights: Ziplining! Sadly, Lake Sebu isn’t exactly close to home for most of us. Fortunately, one visitor has made videos of his experience available online so we can all see the Seven Falls for ourselves!

It’s hard to deny that ziplining is one of the funnest ways to get from point A to point B in a quick manner. It’s got all the adrenaline-pumping thrills of skydiving without the terror of jumping out of an airplane! But combined with the beauty of Lake Sebu’s Seven Falls, located in the province of South Cotabato, ziplining might well be transcendental.

The zipline course, which is broken into two sections, is the tallest in south-east Asia at a height of 180 meters (590 feet). The first section is 740 meters (2,427 feet) long and the second stretches to 420 meters (1,377 feet), meaning visitors will have plenty of time to take in the beautiful waterfalls while screaming in terror.

Sadly, it’s not exactly easy to drop everything and head to the Philippines, is it? Fortunately, thanks to the power of selfie sticks and YouTube, you can experience it almost as if you were there yourself. See, selfie sticks are good for something besides annoying old people!

These two videos, both recorded in July this year by Jeffrie Po, show the thrills and sights that can be had on the Seven Falls zipline. The first video was shot using a selfie stick and presents the scenery with quite a bit of clarity — you even get the chance to see a waterfall behind the zipliner. The second was shot from a first-person point of view, so the scenery you can see is a bit narrower, but the feeling of actually being there is much stronger.

Ready? Set! Go!

If selfie stick manufacturers ever needed a video for an advertisement, we think Jeffrie would be the person to contact. He’s got this down to an art form!

Now, you’ll have to excuse us. We have a few plane tickets to book!
