In 2013, Dark Horse Comics released Zelda: Hyrule Historia to much excitement. The book was Diamond Comic Distributors top-selling book for the year. It ranked #1 on Amazon’s Best Sellers list, topped BookScan’s chart for week of February 3, selling nearly 60,000 copies in its first week. The book has also ranked #1 on the Wall Street Journal and New York Times bestseller lists.

In short, fans loved glossy compendium of everything Zelda. Now publisher Fangamer has hopes of following that success with Legends of Localization Book 1: The Legend of Zelda.

Professional language localizer Clyde “Tomato” Mandelin (Kingdom Hearts II, Attack on Titan, One Piece) penned the book which compares the differences between the Japanese and English versions of the franchise from graphics to gaming techniques.

The book is available now for US$29.00. It marks the first in a series comparing the localization changes and efforts in video game releases.
