Gotta pose ‘em all!

When you think about it, Pikachu is a pretty versatile little guy. Not only is he the adorable mascot character for the entire Pokémon franchise, he also has to be able to hold his own in battles against other Pocket Monsters, and his status as a series regular means he even has to show up in tender or dramatic scenes.

So it’s kind of odd that most Pikachu toys only show the loveable electric-type Pokémon in a single pose. Here with an alternative, though, is this adorable Pikachu figure that’s packed with articulation points.

PF 1

Part of manufacturer Bandai’s high-quality S.H. Figuarts line, this 10-centimeter (3.9-inch) Pikachu can move more than just his arms and hands. While he doesn’t have legs, per se, the joints at his thighs have enough flexibility that he can sit down on his round little tush.

Pikachu’s ears are tail are also posable, making him a more capable actor by allowing him to subtly express energy or interest.

The figure also comes with three different facial expressions, ranging from quietly content to adorably cheerful and fiercely aggressive.

▼ Okay, so Pikachu’s “fiercely aggressive” is also pretty adorable.

The S.H. Figuarts Pikachu is officially listed at 3,789 yen (US$32), but Amazon Japan is currently taking preorders here at the discounted price of 3,306 yen. Shipment is scheduled for April 30.
