Really, what little girl didn’t want to be Sailor Moon’s friend and guardian? And what grown-up girl still doesn’t? Celebrating Sailor Moon’s 20th anniversary, the franchise has announced year-long memberships for the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Official Fan Club.

Becoming a member is just one online form and 5,500 yen (US$49) away. With your membership you’ll receive a specially designed “Nakayoshi” (close friend) Member Certificate and the official lip stick/compact that may or may not be able to transform you into a Sailor Scout when faced with imminent danger.

Being a member will also grant you first access to tickets for the Sailor Moon musical, regular information and announcements, a special online goods store, and special sections on the smartphone application.

The year-long membership will start on June 30, 2016 (Sailor Moon’s birthday) and end June 30, 2017. However, the recruitment phase lasts from April 10 to June 30, 2016, so you have two and half months to save up your yennies for your membership fee.

To kick-off the fan club, there will be a special inauguration event on April 10 at the Tokyo Gymnasium. The event will feature a screening, goods, and talks by voice actresses, including Kotono Mitsuishi and Natsuko Horie. To get into this exclusive event, you’ll need to buy a ticket at your local Daily Yamazaki convenience store for 8,500 yen ($75) before March 31. Hey, being a Sailor Scout ain’t cheap! Fortunately, the 8,500 yen also covers the club membership fee.

For those girls who’ve spent years day-dreaming that they too were “fighting evil by moonlight” and “winning love by daylight,” now is a golden opportunity… for one year… and 5,500 yen… and you don’t actually get to fight evil. But, hey, you’re going to become nakayoshi with Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon and friends!
