From the same creative kitchen that brought us No-Face yakisoba and Jabba the Hut shepherd’s pie, come another cute, delicious vegan recipe for all the Final Fantasy fans out there.

Long hours of gaming can be pretty draining, and when the time for nourishment comes it can be all too easy to just reach for a cup of instant ramen or a bag of chips, even though junk food like that won’t do much to restore your energy. What you really need is a hearty, healthy meal to get you focused again and to replenish your Ability Points (AP).

The multi-talented, ever lovely Yuki from cute-food blog Yukitchen brings us another healthful vegan recipe, this time to satisfy the Final Fantasy fans of the world, with this almost too-cute-to-eat Cactuar Lasagna.

If you’ve played the FF games as much as Yuki has, you’ll have run into your fair share of Cactuar in your journeys. Defeating this enemy will give your characters AP and help them grow stronger, and Yuki is sure this zucchini Cactuar will help YOU grow stronger too, as well as increase your Full Points. A face made from nori seaweed and spiky “hair” made from spaghetti are the perfect way to add those little details that bring the character to life.

Homemade tomato sauce and sautéed vegetables with herbs are layered between lasagna noodles and mashed sweet potatoes, which add a soft sweetness to the zingy tomato flavor.

The whole scrumptious thing is topped off with a spread of homemade vegan cashew “cheese” – which is really quite simple to make – and garnished with the zucchini Cactuar.

After some time in the oven, the lasagna is ready to dig into. Yuki says it will keep in the fridge for three to four days… but that is, if you have any leftovers!

Now that your eyes have feasted, satisfy your taste buds and try the recipe out for yourself! Be sure to  also check out the other recipes from Yukitchen that we’ve featured here, all good for your health, the animals, and the belly.
