Avery Chin and Sylvia Lim make the record books for their impressively quick quick-change act.

Think about how long it takes you to change you clothes. If you don’t have any special engagements that day it’d probably take you a minute or two. But could you do it more than once in a minute?

If you’re magicians Avery Chin and Sylvia Lim of Malaysia, you can and then some. Let’s watch as they attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the “most costume change illusions in one minute.”

In the video, Avery holds a large tubular curtain around Sylvia as she changes outfits at a pace of once every three seconds. Meanwhile, a giant timer counts down from 60 seconds in the background.

In the end, having changed 18 times, Sylvia goes through 19 different outfits which is two more than the previous record which, oddly enough, was also held by Malaysian magicians and set only a week earlier.

As an illusion, she isn’t actually changing full outfits in the traditional sense, but according to Guinness rules, it must be done quickly while still hiding all traces of the previous outfit. The record seems to have more to do with how many outfits they can hide on Sylvia than it has to do with the time limit, hence the little bit of beautiful showboating at the end.

▼ Very impressive but hardly the best use of their time.

Still, the teamwork and synchronization displayed by Avery and Sylvia to pull off this high-speed act is impressive and they are truly deserving of their new record. Here’s what viewers had to say.

“I’ve seen so many ppl do it but never understood HOOOWWWWW”
“Obviously she’s wearing all the dresses at once, and each one is a “rip away” that comes off very easily just by pulling it. You don’t see the back of the clothes, they are most likely held by a thin string of some sort that snaps and falls off when you pull on it.”
“Why can’t a woman change that fast, instead of making us wait two hours to get ready?”
“Wow that last one was pretty cool.”
“Many people know she is wearing multiple clothing like mask changing but can everyone do it so fast and accurate?”
“Pffff easy pizzy…here hold my beer”

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to show this video to my three-year-old to so she’ll start taking less than ten minutes to put on her socks.
