This must be how Bruce Wayne secretly uses the bathroom after eating his noodles.

Although many people think of ramen as simply “Japanese noodles,” the noodles themselves are collectively only one of the many things to enjoy in a ramen meal. Any connoisseur will tell you that the complete dining experience also includes an appreciation of the broth and toppings.

Oh, and should you find yourself at the Fujigaya branch of ramen chain Chinrai, located in Chiba Prefecture’s Kashiwa City, there’s one more thing to look forward to: a trip to the bathroom.

To the uninitiated, that statement probably seems surprising in multiple ways. First, a trip to the bathroom usually isn’t a highlight of a meal out. And second, Chinari’s Fujigaya branch doesn’t even look like it has a restroom, as shown in a video from Japanese Twitter user @jsbskydream. Still, he felt nature calling, and when he asked the restaurant staff where the bathroom was, they directed him to the rear of the restaurant, which must have been puzzling, since all there was to see back there was a bunch of movie memorabilia.

And yet, the staff had been telling the truth.

After a brief search, @jsbskydream discovered how to open the secret passage. At the press of a row of DVDs, the wall slid open to reveal separate men’s and women’s restroom stalls, a bit of high-tech trickery that would make Batman himself smile.

@jsbskydream reports that exiting the bathroom is much less dramatic, as there’s a simple motion sensor that moves the bookshelf aside upon customers exiting the stalls. Still, you won’t want to miss your chance to check out the cool restroom facilities for yourself, so should you find yourself dining at this ramen restaurant, regardless of what you order to eat, make sure to drink several cups of water with it.
