The Japan Sumo Association pokes fun at some of its star athletes who appear to hate getting shots just as much as the rest of us.

It’s that time of the year again, when your coworkers, your classmates, your children, and even the dog is sporting a runny nose as the temperature continues to drop. In other words, now might be a good time to drag yourself to the doctor to get your annual flu shot, if you haven’t done so already.

For some people, just the thought of getting pricked by a needle induces real bodily dread, no matter how old they get. If you’re one of them, perhaps it will comfort you to know that even 300-pound (136-kilogram) sumo wrestlers will flinch when coming up against a tough opponent in the form of a tiny needle. In fact, the Japan Sumo Association’s official Twitter account recently posted a series of comical tweets chronicling star wrestlers at the moment they were being vaccinated for the flu. Some of them take it like the champs they are while others appear to be howling in pain.

In your opinion, who below should take home the prize for the most outstanding reaction grimace?

▼ Myogiryu, Ishiura, Terunofuji, and Sadanoumi

▼ Shohozan, Chiyonokuni, Yamaguchi, and Nishikigi

▼ Kotoeko, Kyokutaisei, Asahisho, and Daishomaru

▼ Harumafuji, Hokutofuji, Takayasu, and Chiyotairyu

Our final group of contenders raises the bar even higher:

▼ Hakuho, Tsurugisho, Daieisho, and Daiamami

After all is said and done, it’s oddly reassuring to know that even though these guys could knock us out of the ring with a single pinky, they’re still human when it comes to the mundane drudgeries of everyday life.
