The danger of having too much free time and too much artistic talent.

“Pikachu, do you even lift, bruh?”

That’s not a question we’d normally ask Pikachu, best know to the world as a cuddly, adorable electric mouse. However, Japanese Twitter artist @bankokukun shook up the Japanese internet recently with his depiction of a buff, brawny Pikachu that he adapted from a simple children’s coloring book.

The tweet has already garnered close to 200,000 likes in the span of just a few days, and while we can definitely appreciate his clear artistic talent, we’re also relieved that Nintendo has never seen fit to include this version of Pikachu within a Pokémon game to date.

“I tried coloring seriously for the first time in a while.”

▼ You gave Pikachu iron…

▼ …it’s super effective! Like, really super effective.
Like maybe you shouldn’t have done that.

That brow! Those abs! The oddly disconcerting belly button! (Have Pokémon always had belly buttons?) It looks as if Pikachu fused with the Colossal Titan, and that is most definitely not kid’s stuff.

In light of @bankokukun’s latest creation, some of his past oldies but goodies resurfaced as well:

▼ Looks like Pikachu has found a gym buddy in Dedenne as well.

▼ When Pikachu was just starting out
on the path to en-muscle-ment.

▼ A fan colorized the buff Pikachu, making it all the more glorious
with some JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure sound effects too.

The bottom line here is that @bankokukun needs to find a less terrifying outlet to release his artistic talents. Just think of the horror if he were to attempt a “serious” drawing of Jigglypuff next! Oh wait, we’ve already seen that before….
